This walks through the exact workflow — from your very first SDS upload to a finished, printable True Chemical Inventory. Follow it top to bottom the first time; after that, you'll only need Steps 2 and 4 for new products.
Takes about a minute. You'll need your practice name, an email, and a password.
This opens the signup flow — four short steps, with a progress bar at the top so you always know how much is left.
Use the email you check regularly — this is also where a password reset link would go if you ever need one.
Founding or Standard — both give you full access to every feature, including the True Chemical Inventory.
Four checkboxes plus your typed name and title — this is standard for any compliance software, confirming you understand what ChemSweep does and doesn't do.
You'll land on your dashboard immediately after — nothing else to set up before you start adding products.
Most offices already have digital SDS from their supplier's portal — start there, no scanning required yet.
This is for products that aren't in ChemSweep yet at all.
Select the SDS file — digital/downloaded or a clear scan both work.
ChemSweep reads Section 1 (product name, manufacturer) and Section 3 (chemicals and CAS numbers) and fills in the form for you.
The SDS file attaches to the product automatically — nothing extra to upload separately.
If a product's already listed but doesn't have its chemicals or first-aid info pulled in yet, this is the button that fixes that — without creating a duplicate.
Tap it from your product list, not "Add Chemical."
Select or confirm the SDS file for this exact product.
Section 3 (chemicals + CAS) and Section 4 (first-aid) get filled in on the existing record — no new entry created.
ChemSweep checks the SDS's Section 1 name against the product you opened, and tells you if they don't match rather than guessing.
Once everything you already have on file is in the system, walk the office and compare shelves to the list.
Go room by room, comparing what's on the shelf to what's already in ChemSweep.
Manufacturer website, supplier portal, or a QR code on the bottle itself often has it digitally — saving you a scan.
This is the one case where "Add Chemical" is exactly right — it's not in the system at all yet.
Check Step 7 first — some things (certain drugs, tissue products, medical devices) genuinely don't have one, and you're not missing anything.
This is the page that turns everything you just entered into an actual chemical-level inventory.
Two view toggles at the top: "By Chemical" and "By Product."
Tap any product name under a chemical to jump straight to that product's detail page.
Use this view when you're holding a bottle and want to know what's in it.
Works across whichever view you're currently on.
OSHA inspections aren't scheduled in advance — having a printed copy ready means you're never caught flat.
Opens a clean, print-ready version of whichever list you're viewing.
Check "Headers and footers" — this adds automatic page numbers, which matters once your list gets long.
Either works — printed for the physical binder, PDF if you'd rather keep it digital-only.
Before you go hunting for an SDS that doesn't exist, check this list — it'll save you real time.
| Category | Example | What to keep instead |
|---|---|---|
| Exempt drug — final dosage form | Albuterol inhaler, Narcan nasal spray | Manufacturer patient info sheet |
| Biologic / tissue product | Bone graft allograft material | Tissue processor's package insert |
| Medical device | Oral wound dressing (e.g. PerioStōm) | Instructions-for-use insert |
Forgetting a password happens — here's how to get back in without losing anything.
Right below the password field.
You'll get an email with a link — check your inbox (and spam folder, just in case).
You'll be dropped right back at sign-in to log in with it — nothing else changes.
